When designing a new wall clock we initially focus on a particular idea or theme. From this starting point the next stage is to create a design that incorporates the spirit of the idea while maintaining an elegant simplicity in keeping with the Art Deco style.  It normally takes several months to develop a new Echo of Deco design and much of the creative work draws on a combination of experience and intuition. As with practically all fine Art Deco design the simplest ideas are often the best, though nearly always the hardest to attain.

The inspiration for this stylish wall clock comes from the Italian pioneer of radio, Guglielmo Marconi. Marconi's work in the development of wireless radio was quite literally a quantum leap in the field of human communication, contributing greatly to the advancement of the modern world. The design of the Marconi 1 shows the first experimental radio waves being transmitting across the Atlantic in 1901. The three right angled lines in the middle of the clock symbolise radio signals radiating outwards from the V shape transmitter into space. By the 1920's wireless radio was regularly being broadcast into millions of homes and providing entertainment in a completely new way.

The height of our Marconi 1 wall clock is approximately 18cm by 22cm wide.  Price £55

The idea for this distinctive wall clock comes from combining the aspirant feeling of the roaring twenties with the exciting Art Deco skyline of Manhattan, New York. Due to the limited space available and booming economy higher and higher skyscrapers were being built in New York during the first years of the 20th Century. These tall structures were of such a size and proximity that they blocked out the daylight reaching the streets below, reducing the general quality of life for the cities inhabitants. In 1916 a zoning law was passed in certain districts, which restricted a buildings height to its plot size. As a result the high rise skyscrapers built during the 1920's and 30's were creatively designed to be stepped back in accordance with the new  law.  This is the reason the city of Manhattan has its distinctive Architecture and iconic Art Deco skyline. Our Manhattan wall clock incorporates this idea with its characteristic layered fan design.

The height of our Manhattan wall clock is approximately 22cm by 17cm wide.  Price £60
